RAW Light
RAW Light is a fixture design featuring repurposed parts for structure, skin, and light. Built for Environmental Technology during the third year in architecture, the process included material sourcing and detailing, structural testing, lighting selection, and final assembly. The output assemblage utilized reinforced AC filter shells bolted into nested frames, with a mesh cover that diffuses the lamp. This design was selected as first place from more than fifty entries.
Working independently, this project involved an end-to-end pipeline to translate repurposed parts into a coherent tectonic system. Iterative tests included sourcing filter shells and prototyping bolt patterns for structural rigidity, with additional tests on mesh types to balance form and light diffusion.
